Baseball Recap: St. Michael's Gets the Win

St. Michael posted their closest win since March 8th on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Portales Rams 11-9. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Horsemen also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Michael Giesler was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aidan Cedillo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

St. Michael's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

St. Michael's record now sits at 10-6. As for Portales, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

St. Michael's didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 21-0 win against Estancia on the 10th. As for Portales, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 5-1 loss against West Las Vegas on the 8th.
