After having lost a blowout in their previous game, St. James was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Carolina Forest Panthers. This was a revenge game for the Sharks: when they faced off against the Panthers last Monday, they had to take a 13-3 loss.

Dylan Victoria tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, St. James saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brenten Fornal, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

St. James has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 8.8 hits in those games compared to only 4.17 in the others. Carolina Forest moved to 7-3 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

St. James will have a chance to go back-to-back against Carolina Forest: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
