Basketball Recap: San Bernardino's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After flying high against Miller last Thursday, San Bernardino came back down to earth. The San Bernardino Cardinals took a hard 58-43 fall against the Ontario Christian Knights on Thursday. The Cardinals' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, San Bernardino still got an impressive performance from George McEwen, who posted 19 points. The game was McEwen's seventh in a row with at least ten points. RJ McCollum was another key player, putting up eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Ontario Christian was led to victory by Mason Salazar and Corey Allen. Salazar went 6 of 13 on his way to 16 points and five steals, while Allen dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Allen a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Jones, who put up 11 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

San Bernardino's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Ontario Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-9.

San Bernardino wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 50-47 loss against Valley Christian on the 27th. As for Ontario Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-49 victory against Eisenhower on the 27th.
