Basketball Recap: M.L. King Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

M.L. King's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 63-52 victory over the Stone Mountain Pirates. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

M.L. King got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ronald K Collins out in front who went 5 of 7 en route to 12 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave K Collins a new career-high in assists (two). Another player making a difference was Calvin Everhart Iii, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine assists.

M.L. King was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

M.L. King's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8. As for Stone Mountain, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

M.L. King will head out to challenge Cristo Rey Atlanta at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Stone Mountain, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against North Clayton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
