Volleyball Recap: Smithton Tigers vs. Windsor Greyhounds
Smithton was the 2-0 winner over Windsor when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell 3-1 to the Greyhounds on Tuesday. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Greyhounds 25-12 in the first set.
Smithton actually scored more points across those four sets (89-87), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 12-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-23.
Aubree Huddleston paced Smithton's offense, picking up 14 kills. Huddleston got some help from Carolina Houston and her 34 assists. Codee Neibreugge controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Smithton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Windsor, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 7-7.
Looking ahead, Smithton will take on Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Windsor, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Warsaw on the 1st.
