Basketball Recap: Booker T. Washington Takes a Loss

Booker T. Washington extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were dealt a 58-24 defeat at the hands of the Salmen Spartans. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.

As for Salmen, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Salmen got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Akayla Mcmooain out in front who shot 43% from the field on her way to 22 points in addition to six boards and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mcmooain has scored at least a third of the Spartans' points. Another player making a difference was Kendal Thomas, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 15 points along with seven assists and three steals.

While Booker T. Washington had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
