Basketball Recap: Frontier Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Emily Gesick and Aaliyah Richardson

On Saturday, the Frontier Academy Wolverines came up short against the Denver West Cowboys and fell 33-25. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Frontier Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Aaliyah Richardson and Emily Gesick. Richardson posted eight points in addition to nine boards and seven steals, while Gesick dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. Those nine rebounds gave Richardson a new career-high.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Denver West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shukri Hussein, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Heaven Martinez, who put up two points in addition to nine rebounds and three blocks.

Frontier Academy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Denver West, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Frontier Academy will take on Valley in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Denver West and Conifer will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
