Football Game Recap: Dayton Dust Devils vs. Truckee Wolverines + How To Watch

Dayton extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 42-6 to the Truckee Wolverines, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. If the Dust Devils were looking for revenge after losing 58-6 to the Wolverines when the teams met back in September of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Dayton lost, don't look at Duke Evans. Despite the final result, he rushed for 202 yards and one TD while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Evans was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards.

As for Truckee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victory was all the more spectacular given their disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 225th in California, while Dayton is ranked 44th in Nevada).

Truckee got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was C.J. Smith out in front who rushed for 203 yards on only 14 carries. Lukas Andrew was in the mix as well, providing the Wolverines with two touchdowns.

Dayton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 26-2 victory against Sparks on the 26th. As for Truckee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 38-29 defeat against Fernley on the 27th.
