Basketball Recap: South Park Comes Up Short

South Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by the Lake County Panthers 70-22. The Burros were down 59-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Isaiah Martinez was his usual excellent self, going 11 of 21 en route to 30 points in addition to seven boards and six assists for Lake County. The dominant performance gave Martinez a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Jaren Peters, who posted nine points along with five rebounds and five steals.

South Park's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Lake County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8.

South Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 51-27 loss against Cotopaxi on the 23rd. As for Lake County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-42 defeat against The Pinnacle on the 25th.
