Basketball Game Preview: Eagle Ridge Academy vs. Heritage Christian

Eagle Ridge Academy are taking a road trip to take on Heritage Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Heritage Christian is hoping to do what West Lutheran couldn't on Friday: put an end to Eagle Ridge Academy's winning streak, which now stands at five games. Everything went Eagle Ridge Academy's way against West Lutheran as Eagle Ridge Academy made off with a 61-41 victory. While Eagle Ridge Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Heritage Christian made easy work of United Christian Academy on Friday and carried off a 79-53 win. Given Heritage Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while United Christian Academy is ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eagle Ridge Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Heritage Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Eagle Ridge Academy came up short against Heritage Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 62-49. Can Eagle Ridge Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
