Softball Game Preview: South Hills Huskies vs. Elsinore Tigers

The South Hills Huskies will head out to square off against the Elsinore Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Hills is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season.

South Hills will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against West Covina on Wednesday. South Hills put the hurt on West Covina with a sharp 16-0 win. The Huskies have beaten the Bulldogs the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Parker Milton looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, South Hills got a massive performance out of Mikayla Sta. Ana, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave Sta. Ana a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Saguin, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

South Hills hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Elsinore was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Santiago.

Elsinore saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Wade, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

South Hills now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Elsinore, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
