The Eastlake Wolves are taking a road trip to take on the Mount Si Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastlake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Eastlake came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-1 to Issaquah. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.
Eastlake saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Macie Parthemer, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Mount Si entered their tilt with Bellevue on Friday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over the Wolverines. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 11 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Clara Connor tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sam Santo, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anna Braukus, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and four RBI.
Mount Si hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellevue struck out eight times.
Mount Si pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.7 runs over those games. As for Eastlake, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Eastlake hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Mount Si struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
