The Mohawk Area Warriors will take on the Hickory Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Mohawk Area had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Ambridge on Monday. The Warriors blew past the Bridgers 8-1.
Bobby Fadden made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mohawk Area is undefeated when Fadden allows one or fewer hits, but 6-8 otherwise. Fadden was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Mohawk Area got a great performance from Briar Crawford as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Crawford is becoming a predictor of the Warriors' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't).
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Vinny Pezzuolo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. He has become a key player for Mohawk Area: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Drew Wrona, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hickory). They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over Oil City on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hornets as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Jack White was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Dante Evans was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Hickory kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.
Mohawk Area now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Hickory, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
