Baseball Game Preview: O'Connor Eagles vs. Red Mountain Mountain Lions

The O'Connor Eagles will challenge the Red Mountain Mountain Lions at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (O'Connor 3.8, Red Mountain 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

O'Connor not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th (when they won 13-1). They put the hurt on Pinnacle with a sharp 7-1 win.

O'Connor saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Imboden, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Red Mountain's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Mountain View by a score of 3-2.

Red Mountain also got a good showing from Dylan Keith, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

O'Connor has been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Red Mountain, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 18-5.

O'Connor skirted past Red Mountain 7-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mountain Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
