Football Game Preview: Magnolia Panthers vs. Arkansas Razorbacks

Magnolia is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Friday. They will venture away from home to face off against the Arkansas Razorbacks at 7:00 p.m. Arkansas took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Magnolia, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Magnolia took on Hamburg on Friday. The Panthers came out on top against the Lions by a score of 62-54.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Magnolia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamaijha Marshall, who rushed for 153 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of John Curry, who rushed for 83 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Magnolia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 369 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 203 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Arkansas was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 55-21 loss at the hands of El Dorado.

Arkansas' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Magnolia, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Magnolia was able to grind out a solid win over Arkansas in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, winning 27-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
