Given Greater Vision Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Winston-Salem Christian is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Greater Vision Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Love, who scored 17 points. The match was Love's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Titus Tucker was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with 3 steals.
Greater Vision Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Winston-Salem Christian, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greater Vision Academy will face off against Oak Ridge Military Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Ridge Military Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 594 points over their last eight matches. As for Winston-Salem Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Roanoke Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Roanoke Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Wednesday.
