Volleyball Recap: Guyer's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was a proper cat-fight when Guyer faced off against Midlothian on Friday. The Wildcats took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Midlothian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sheridan Riles, who had eight digs and two aces. What's more, Riles posted four assists, the most she's had over her last seven contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyleigh Shaw, who had three digs and two aces.

The defeat snapped Guyer's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record. As for Midlothian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-6.

Guyer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Forney on the 22nd. As for Midlothian, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Frenship on the 22nd.
