Basketball Recap: South-Doyle Comes Up Short

South-Doyle lost against Carter back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The South-Doyle Cherokees took a hard 78-59 fall against the Carter Green Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Cherokees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Green Hornets are ranked 71st).

South-Doyle has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. As for Carter, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-7.

South-Doyle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 77-64 loss against Anderson County on the 13th. Carter has also already played their next contest (against Roane County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
