Joshua came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with seven straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Burleson Elks. That's more bragging rights for the Owls, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Joshua had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-12.

Joshua was led to victory by Madilyn Lacey and Ruby Vincent. Lacey had 26 digs and two assists, while Vincent had 15 assists and 13 digs. That's the most digs Lacey has posted since September 2nd.

Joshua's win bumped their record up to 24-9. As for Burleson, they moved to 13-15 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-match winning streak.

Joshua and Burleson should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Owls will face off against Mansfield Timberview at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (94 vs. 542). Meanwhile, Burleson (ranked 369th) will meet Everman (ranked 1061st) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
