Recap: Laurens Central Leopards vs. Franklin Central Purple Devils
The Laurens Central Leopards had to endure a three-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past Franklin Central 55-26 at home. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Laurens Central also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Franklin Central saw an underclassman step up: Shannon Kingsbury scored 13 points along with six steals and five rebounds. That was a full 50% of Franklin Central's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The victory got Laurens Central back to even at 1-1. As for Franklin Central, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-6.
Laurens Central will square off against Edmeston Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edmeston Central is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Franklin Central, they will be playing at home against Cherry Valley-Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
