Softball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for West Bridgewater

West Bridgewater lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Old Rochester Regional, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's matchup. The Wildcats blew past the Bulldogs 16-6 on Wednesday. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by six runs or more this season.

Haylee Krakowski was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna LaGrange, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs.

Krakowski wasn't the only one making solid contact: West Bridgewater kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 25 hits. The Wildcats are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

West Bridgewater pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Old Rochester Regional, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Bridgewater will face off against South Shore Vo-Tech at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Old Rochester Regional, they will challenge Greater New Bedford RVT at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
