Shadow Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell to the Apollo Hawks 26-21. The Stallions lost against the Hawks in their previous head to head back in October of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 48-14 score last time.

Several Stallions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Xavier Armenta, who rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Robert Perry also helped out with an impressive 83 receiving yards.

A big part of Apollo's win came down to the chemistry between Sylus Stevenson and his top target Isaiah White. Stevenson threw for 202 yards and three touchdowns while White picked up 106 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Shadow Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Apollo, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Shadow Ridge will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th. After each having a week off, Apollo and Willow Canyon will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.
