Soccer Game Preview: Coalinga vs. Tranquillity

The Coalinga Horned Toads are taking a road trip to take on the Tranquillity Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Coalinga's offense. They lost 8-0 to Mendota on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Horned Toads can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 775th, while the Aztecs are ranked 103rd).

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in December of 2024, Tranquillity was forced to settle for a draw on Tuesday. They and Dos Palos finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 draw.

Tranquillity's draw makes their record 10-11-2 this season. As for Coalinga, they now have a losing record at 11-12-3.

Coalinga was able to grind out a solid win over Tranquillity in their previous matchup back in January, winning 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coalinga since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
