Soccer Game Preview: Cranston East vs. St. Mary Academy-Bay View

The Cranston East Thunderbolts will venture away from home to face off against the St. Mary Academy-Bay View Bengals at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.

Cranston East is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Providence Country Day, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Cranston East was ranked 25th). The Thunderbolts fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Cranston East have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, St. Mary Academy-Bay View was forced to settle for a draw. They and Classical finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw on Wednesday.

Abby Figueiredo and Kenzie Mooney scored both of St. Mary Academy-Bay View's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Cranston East's loss dropped their record down to 3-6-2. St. Mary Academy-Bay View's draw gives them a new season record of 5-5-1.
