Softball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central was the 7-6 winner over Hampshire when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Rockets took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Whip-Purs on Wednesday. The Rockets just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Central got a good showing from Maddy Kaczmar, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addisyn Petersen, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 13-19. As for Hampshire, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-9.

Looking ahead, Central will take on St. Charles East at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hampshire has already played their next match (against Crystal Lake Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
