Basketball Recap: Hempstead Takes a Loss

Hempstead lost a heartbreaker to Xavier when they met back in February of 2022, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The Hempstead Mustangs were outmatched by the Xavier Saints and fell 70-41. The match marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Hempstead dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Xavier, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Hempstead will be playing in front of their home fans against Kennedy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennedy will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Hempstead surely won't give up without a fight. As for Xavier, they will head out on the road to take on Wahlert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Xavier knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Wahlert likes a good challenge.
