Softball Game Preview: Hinsdale South Hornets vs. De La Salle Meteors

The Hinsdale South Hornets will face off against the De La Salle Meteors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hinsdale South will be strutting in after a victory while De La Salle will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Hinsdale South turned things around against Leyden on Friday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 7-4.

Aliyah Hamilton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kayla Buckels-Meen, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Scheirer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, De La Salle didn't have quite enough to beat Aurora Central Catholic on Monday and fell 4-3. The Meteors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Julie Guerrero made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

Hinsdale South's win bumped their record up to 4-17-1. As for De La Salle, their loss dropped their record down to 19-7.
