Basketball Preview: Albuquerque Bulldogs vs. Volcano Vista Hawks
Albuquerque hasn't had much luck against Volcano Vista recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Albuquerque Bulldogs will take on the Volcano Vista Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Albuquerque focused on turnovers this week as the team gave up 12 on Monday.
Albuquerque can't be to happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home. They took a 60-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of La Cueva. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bears 14-8 in the first quarter.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kaelynn Ashley, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lailah Bouldin, who earned 12 points plus two steals.
Meanwhile, Volcano Vista gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They blew past Eldorado 68-35. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Hawks had established a 29 point advantage.
