Basketball Game Preview: Hoover Cardinals vs. Hamilton Yankees

The Hoover Cardinals will challenge the Hamilton Yankees at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Hoover and five for Hamilton.

It was a proper cat-fight when Hoover challenged Linfield Christian on Saturday. Hoover fell 57-44 to Linfield Christian.

Meanwhile, Hamilton took a blow against Palisades on Friday, falling 78-47. While losing is never fun, the Yankees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 700th, while the Dolphins are ranked 196th).

Hoover will have to contain Garrett Anderson as he made an impact in Hamilton's last game. He posted ten points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Vernell Thompson, who put up nine points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Hamilton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Hoover, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
