Baseball Preview: West Point Green Wave vs. Marshall Academy Patriots
The West Point Green Wave will take on the Marshall Academy Patriots in a tournament on Wednesday. West Point has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
West Point is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Lake Cormorant on Tuesday. Collin Woods was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Colt Carpenter, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Marshall Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Houston Christian struck out eight times.
Marshall Academy now has a winning record of 7-6. As for West Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
