Smyrna is 7-2 against Caesar Rodney since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Riders at 4:15 p.m. Smyrna's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Caesar Rodney's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Smyrna took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They never let Delmarva Christian get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. Considering the Eagles have won five contests by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Caesar Rodney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 10-0 to Sussex Central.

Smyrna now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Caesar Rodney, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Smyrna took their victory against Caesar Rodney when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-1 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Riders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
