Basketball Recap: Piedmont Comes Up Short

Piedmont played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 54-24 loss at the hands of the Jacksonville Golden Eagles. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Jacksonville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexis Phillips, who posted nine points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Phillips has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ontarriah Braxton, who had 12 points and six steals.

Piedmont now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Jacksonville, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piedmont has already played their next game (against Cherokee County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Jacksonville has also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against Anniston.
