Preview: Port Washington Pirates vs. Nicolet Knights

Port Washington is 1-9 against Nicolet since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Port Washington Pirates' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Nicolet Knights at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Monday, Port Washington earned a 67-58 victory over West Bend. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Port Washington has managed all season.

Meanwhile, Nicolet waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins but they left with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat West Bend West 104-47 at home. Nicolet has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 23 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Nacir Beamon, who scored 33 points along with six rebounds and two steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of David Bolden, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and six steals.

Port Washington's win ended a 15-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-13. As for Nicolet, their win was their 17th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3.

Port Washington strolled past Nicolet in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 98-83. The rematch might be a little tougher for Port Washington since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
