Soccer Game Preview: Cary vs. Sanderson

The Cary Imps will take on the Sanderson Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Friday just wasn't the day for Cary's offense. They fell just short of Garner by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The Imps have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Sanderson gave up the first goal last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Riverside-Durham 2-1. While the Spartans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Natalie Rau and Lindsay Kinlaw scored both of Sanderson's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

The victory made it two in a row for Sanderson and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those two games. As for Cary, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
