Basketball Recap: Southern Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Southern Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 61-34 defeat at the hands of the Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Rangers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 76-27 on January 7th.

Macon-East Montgomery Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacob Johnson out in front who went 8 of 13 en route to 16 points and seven assists. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in assists. Micah Andrews was another key player, going 6 for 13 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Southern Prep Academy's record is now 1-9. As for Macon-East Montgomery Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13.

Southern Prep Academy has already played their next matchup (against Chambers Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Macon-East Montgomery Academy will venture away from home to square off against Springwood at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
