Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Cougars vs. East Fairmont Bees

Having just played yesterday, the Jefferson Cougars will get right back to it and host the East Fairmont Bees at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Jefferson took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Hedgesville by a score of 48-39.

Meanwhile, East Fairmont waltzed into their match on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They breezed past the Tigers to the tune of 73-39. The Bees have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Jefferson better focus on containing Kailee Haymond and Emma Moore as the pair were huge in East Fairmont's win. Haymond went 10-for-18 to rack up 26 points and seven steals, while Moore went 10-for-15 en route to 22 points and four steals. Haymond's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Kasey Rogers, who posted eight points and eight assists.

Jefferson's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-12. As for East Fairmont, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4.
