Baseball Recap: Lordsburg Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Lordsburg finally came back down to earth on Friday. They lost 12-2 to the Tohatchi Cougars. The Mavericks haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Lordsburg saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Scott, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. Scott has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Lordsburg's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Tohatchi, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Lordsburg will take on Jemez Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Jemez Valley will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Lordsburg surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tohatchi, they will be playing at home against Navajo Pine at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Tohatchi is facing Navajo Pine at the right time seeing as Navajo Pine is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
