Volleyball Recap: Calvary Day School Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

While Calvary Day School's win against Winston Salem Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Lions 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since August 30, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Calvary Day School got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-22, 15-25, 25-21, 19-25, 15-5.

Calvary Day School was led to victory by Rachel Cooney and Katheryn Tate. Cooney had 14 digs and two aces, while Tate had 27 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Tate a new career-high in assists (five).

They weren't the only good servers: Calvary Day School was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 14 aces in three consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Winston Salem Christian lost on Friday, don't look at Giulia Perazzo. Despite the final result, she had 44 assists and ten digs. Perazzo has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more assists the last four times she's played.

Calvary Day School's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-10. As for Winston Salem Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12.
