Baseball Game Preview: Atascadero Greyhounds vs. Paso Robles Bearcats

The Atascadero Greyhounds will face off against the Paso Robles Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Tuesday, Atascadero didn't have quite enough to beat Sierra Pacific and fell 5-4.

Atascadero saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reid Gearhart, who scored a run while going 2-for-5. Evan Churchill also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Paso Robles was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Templeton. The defeat continues a trend for the Bearcats in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Paso Robles also got a good showing from Cole Walker, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Atascadero's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Paso Robles, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Atascadero skirted past Paso Robles 1-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will Atascadero repeat their success, or does Paso Robles has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
