Football Recap: Wakeland Extends Winning Streak to Three + How To Watch

It's playoff time, and Wakeland had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 43-36 victory over the Cedar Park Timberwolves on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Wolverines sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Wakeland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden Maples, who threw for 389 yards and four TDs while completing 72% of his passes. What's more, Maples racked up 153.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September. Lucas Mangham was Maples' top target, picking up 172 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Wakeland didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Cedar Park to a completion percentage of just 36.8%. The team can thank Austin Liddell for the heroic effort on defense: he. Given Maples' standout performance, it's clear Cedar Park's secondary just wasn't on the same level.

Cedar Park lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Trae Samuel Frost Hill, who rushed for 223 yards and three scores. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 135 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was David Cooper, who rushed for 122 yards and one TD on only 11 carries.

Wakeland's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Cedar Park, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-4.

Wakeland has already played their next matchup, a 47-20 loss against Highland Park on the 28th. Cedar Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
