Basketball Recap: Briarwood Takes a Loss

Briarwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 58-33 to the Brazosport Christian Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-25 back in December of 2024.

Brazosport Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Coburn, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 15 points and five assists. That's the most assists Coburn has posted since back in January of 2024. Tyson Sullivan was another key player, going 6 for 9 en route to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Briarwood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Brazosport Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

Briarwood has already played their next matchup (against Legacy Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Brazosport Christian will head out to challenge Chinquapin Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
