League recap: Woodard overpowering for Naylor in past week

Naylor's Dalton Woodard was the best pitcher in the league this week. Over the past week, he had one win and 19 Ks.

Doniphan made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from sixth to third place in the league thanks to a 1-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, the Eagles fell hardest in the standings, dropping from fifth all the way to seventh place after going 3-2 in the past week. Greenville (14-8, 3-1) is now in first place.

Naylor's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 26 hits and 17 walks to lead the league in both categories. The Eagles' pitchers have been charged with only 116 hits and have struck out 159 batters. Woodard is tops on the staff with 76 Ks.

Naylor, the league leader in stolen bases this season with 40, added to its lead in that category with 13 more steals over the past week. Manager Jeff Null is giving his players opportunities to steal, and Taylor Davis has racked up a team-high 10 stolen bases for the Eagles.

Aaron Graham led the league with seven hits this week for Naylor. His 25 hits for the year are fifth in the league, and he boasts a .424 batting average.
