Baseball Game Preview: Dunkirk Marauders vs. St. Francis Red Raiders

Dunkirk is 0-3 against St. Francis since May of 2019 but things could change on Saturday. The Marauders will welcome the Red Raiders at 1:00 p.m. Dunkirk is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.

On Friday, Dunkirk beat Allegany-Limestone 11-6.

Henry Leone was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Trippy, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, St. Francis played in-conference for the first time on Thursday and got just the result they were looking for. They had just enough and edged out St. Mary's 4-3.

Dunkirk's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for St. Francis, their victory bumped their record up to 2-9-1.

Dunkirk suffered a grim 11-3 defeat to St. Francis in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can the Marauders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
