Baseball Recap: Conway Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Myrtle Beach, Conway was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Myrtle Beach Seahawks by a score of 8-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Wade Martin tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Corbin Todd was incredible, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Conway: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brewer Cannon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Conway hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Myrtle Beach struck out eight times.

Conway's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-5. As for Myrtle Beach, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Conway beat the Seahawks by a score of 3-0 on Wednesday.
