Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Summit Charter walked away with it. They never let the Phoenix Academy Firebirds get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Thursday. Considering Summit Charter have won five matchups by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Phoenix Academy from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Pablo Espinosa led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.

Summit Charter has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those eight matches. As for Phoenix Academy, they dropped their record down to 6-14-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Summit Charter will face off against Triad Math and Science Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Summit Charter will need to watch out since Triad Math and Science Academy have now posted at least four goals in their last three matchups. Phoenix Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
