Basketball Recap: Granger Lancers vs. Kearns Cougars
Granger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Kearns Cougars and fell 81-44. The Lancers were probably out for revenge after losing 81-57 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Despite the defeat, Granger saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Will Tidwell posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Mason Biddulph, who scored six points and seven rebounds.
Kearns had a senior duo take command as Isaiah Cruz went 8 of 11 on his way to 22 points and Hayden Pentico went 7 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Stark, who had 12 points and five steals.
Granger's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Kearns, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.
Granger will be playing in front of their home fans against Juan Diego Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Juan Diego Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.2 points per game this season. As for Kearns, they will venture away from home to square off against Taylorsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Taylorsville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
