Football Recap: Sequoyah Comes Up Short

Sequoyah fell victim to Tellico Plains and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Bears. The Chiefs just can't catch a break and have now endured 12 losses in a row dating back to last season.

Tellico Plains found their leader in sophomore Gio Carter, who rushed for 164 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. Ike Hollinghead was another key player, throwing for 153 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten passes.

Sequoyah's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Tellico Plains, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sequoyah will square off against Polk County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tellico Plains, they will challenge Sweetwater at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
