Madera has gone 8-0-1 against Arroyo Grande recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Madera Coyotes are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will take on the Arroyo Grande Eagles at 3:30 p.m. Madera will be strutting in after a victory while Arroyo Grande will be coming in after a defeat.

Madera barely beat Golden Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Madera never let Golden Valley get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Coyotes.

Jayleen Gutknecht looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Sadie Gonzalez was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Destinee Avila, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Arroyo Grande lost 16-1 to Golden West on Saturday.

Ella Stennett (2025) was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Madera's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Arroyo Grande, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Madera beat Arroyo Grande 8-3 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Madera since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
