Football Recap: Fayette Academy Comes Up Short

Fayette Academy extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They were dealt a 49-8 loss at the hands of the Jackson Christian Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 48-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for Jackson Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Considering they have won four games by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jackson Christian had a senior duo take command as Eli Smith rushed for 28 yards and two scores and Duece Lawrence rushed for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries. Lawrence is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Hudson Little was in the mix as well, providing Jackson Christian with one TD.

Looking ahead, Fayette Academy will square off against Halls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jackson Christian, they will challenge Tipton-Rosemark Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Rebels' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.4 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
