Baseball Recap: Mckinley Tech Wins Going Away Against Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against School Without Walls, McKinley Tech was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering Panthers 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Trainers, who have now won four matches by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Cole Smith was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-3. McKinley Tech is undefeated when Smith posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Menelik Farmer, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-2. As for Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. McKinley Tech will challenge rival Ballou at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering is set to take on their familiar foe School Without Walls at 4:00 p.m. on the 21st.
